Dinghy Sailing

Learn to sail programmes for those 15+, are available through the Yacht Club.  A great way to learn a new skill, enjoy the beautiful harbour we have, and meet new people.

The dinghy course starts on a Quest boat which allows several people to sail together initially, working towards a Topaz, which you will start to sail on your own. For some this will take one course before heading to the next level, for others it might take a bit longer. People learn at different rates.

You must be able to swim 50m with a life jacket on, and have a good level of fitness to be able to pull yourself up onto the boat from the water.​​​​​​​

Crewed Yacht Sailing

Our crewed yacht skipper takes four adults out on a small trailer yacht, he covers the basic principles of keeler yacht sailing.

Numbers are limited.

Courses are either 3 x 5 hours days or 5 x 3 hour evenings.

Cost $450 per person.

Crew & Brew - Dinghy Sailing Fun

This is KNot your average sailing course...
It’s a chance to get out on the water with a friendly crew, pick up some sailing skills, and enjoy learning in a chilled, relaxed way.
All skill levels are welcome... whether you’re brand new to sailing or have plenty of experience. Beginners will learn the ropes, while more experienced sailors can share their knowledge and help guide others.
And just like that, we all learn from each other, with the coach guiding the adventure and keeping things safe and easy. At the end of the day, we cheers to what we’ve learned out on the water.

How to sign?

Spots are limited, so you have to be quick and save your spot. The form opens every Monday and the cost of the session is $65 per person.

What do I need?

You have to be reasonably fit, enough to be able to swim 50 meters wearing a lifejacket and pull yourself up onto the dinghy sail boat from the water.  Bring your swimwear and a wetsuit if you have one. And a towel for a shower after.

What we provide?

Life jackets, spray jackets, helmets, and of course, the dinghies. If you would prefer to wear your own bike helmet please feel free to bring along.
