Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club has produced some of the worlds most highly regarded sailors on the current international circuit. 

Whether you, or your child, wish to follow in the footsteps of club members Peter Burling, Molly or Sam Meech, Jason or Tom Saunders; or just be able to cruise around the harbour for a casual cruise, it all starts with "Learn to Sail".

We offer lessons from the age of 8.  These lessons follow the Yachting NZ curriculum. 

Once Learn to Sail stages are complete, you can decide if you wish to head out on your own, or continue by joining the club and enrolling in our race training programme.

- Swimwear. We highly recommend a wetsuit if possible.

- Life jacket, if you have one.

- Towel.

- Sunscreen.

- Warm layers to get changed into after your lesson.

What we provide

We provide a life jacket, a helmet and spray jacket, the boat to learn to sail in, and Yachting NZ Trained Coaches.
