WINDSURFING AT TYPBC

Join the fast, fun and affordable sport of windsurf racing at the club on the beautiful Tauranga Harbour. We race Techno for juniors (10-16yrs) and RS:X for youth and adults (16yrs+) as well as raceboards for any age group. The Techno board class is currently the second largest youth class in the world (see Techno video here) attracting 400 kids at last year's World Championships in France from 28 countries. The RS:X is both a youth and adult Olympic class for both men and women (see RS:X video here), they enjoyed nearly 300 boardsailors at their European Championships this year.

We race regularly as part of the Centreboard racing programme on Sundays (see Calendar for details), we have weekly after-school race coaching from Sept to April as well as a Learn to Windsurf programme for beginners. We hold race clinics with some of the country's top coaches, attend away regattas all over NZ and attend overseas regattas such as those in Noumea and World Championships for Techno and RS:X boards. We even have a group of casual boardsailors called the Adventure Group, who just come down to the club for regular sessions with a coach to do all sorts of fun stuff on their boards that doesn't involve racing. (UPCOMING COURSES AT BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE). You can charter your gear from BoPSAT to make it even more affordable. We also do lots of windsurfing for fun and can be seen blasting across the harbour on our shortboards when the wind is up, so why not come along and join us for some of the best fun you'll ever have on the water. Check out these videos of our club boardsailors blasting across the harbour here and here. And just for a bit of fun, check out Le Defi Wind 2015 event which attracted 1,200 boardsailors racing in 50 knots !!!!
