Sailing Programme
The club competition programme is detailed in another page on the web site. The full club calendar available from the office and as part of your annual membership documentation.
- At a local level we have 18 race days over the summer season with each race counted towards a series. Trophies are awarded for achievement in each class. This year we will also be running two handicap series, one before and one after Christmas. This is to acknowledge our developing sailors and to encourage all sailors to try hard
- We host a number of regattas throughout the season that are attended by sailors from all over the country. In this season we are holding the following;
- Tauranga Regatta
- P Class North Islands
- At a regional level we encourage our sailors to participate throughout the race events in the BOP. This is a great opportunity to refine the sailors skills in a variety of water conditions. From the fresh water of Lake Taupo to the challenge of Ohope. In addition sailors meet their peers from other clubs and enjoy the social atmosphere. Often when we go to these regattas we stay as a group in motor camps etc. This also adds to the social dimension.
- Steve's Marine Winter Series 24th May NOR SI
- Ohope Regatta 2009 30th 31st May 2009
- North Island and National championships are serious youth events that our sailors aspire to. This year we will see the following events :
- P Class North Island Champs Labour Weekend October 2009 - Tauranga
- Opti Nationals Easter 2010 – Whitianga
